Why We Do This
We do this to say thank you.
Thank you to the women who gave us everything before we ever knew what that meant. Thank you to the moms who cooked without recipes, loved without limits, and showed up in a thousand ways that didn’t always get recognized.
Mother’s Day, to us, is about honoring all moms. Grandmas and great‑grandmas. Moms in the thick of it, moms dreaming of it someday. It’s for stepmoms, chosen moms, dog moms, plant moms, moms‑to‑be, and anyone who wants to celebrate the woman who raised them. It’s about love in every form it takes.
Motherhood looks different for everyone, but there’s something deeply familiar about it too. One day, you realize you’re doing the same small things you once watched someone else do. Setting plates on the table, cooking without measuring, making something warm out of whatever you have. And then one day after that, you’re standing a little farther back, watching it all continue through another generation.
Mother’s Day is always been about gathering around a table. Slowing down and just being together. Taking a moment to properly honor the people who made us who we are.
So every year, on this one special Sunday, we open our table a little wider, creating space for families to celebrate what matters most.
Long Before This Kitchen, There Was Hers
Long before there was the Aladdin’s kitchen, there was mom’s.
A warm kitchen, a cluttered counter that still somehow looked neater than my tidied one today. Meals made from memory, instinct, and heart. The kind of cooking that didn’t need measuring cups, because it was guided by care.
Before there were recipes you enjoy today, she was creating them unknowingly. Feeding her family, friends, and anyone who came through our door.
She fed us from her heart, and it shaped who we are today; literally and figuratively. The way we cook. The way we host. The way we serve. The way we believe food should bring people together, not rush them out the door.
That spirit lives on in everything we do. Every dish, every table, every gathering is a quiet nod to the woman who showed us that food isn’t just nourishment, it’s love made visible.

It’s designed to feel generous, abundant, and welcoming. The special is available to everyone at the table, moms or not, because Mother’s Day should feel shared.

Our Mother’s Day Menu
This Mother’s Day, we’re offering our annual three-course meal for $15 per guest, available all day on Sunday, May 10th. Whether you’re treating mom, celebrating together, or simply giving yourself permission to enjoy a beautiful meal, this menu will offer something for everyone.
Start with an appetizer. Classic hummus or baba, served with our famous hot sauce available upon request.
Choose an entree. From comforting mujadara to the crispy Taza chicken salad, there is something for everyone to try and enjoy. Other menu options include Genie’s Combo Plate, shawarma rolled pitas, and our beloved fattoush salad (with or without chicken). Hungry yet?
Finish with dessert. Take your pick of anything we offer. From baklava to gluten-free torte, every meal is complete with something sweet. This is a reminder to treat yourself, because life is all about balance.
